CARBON OFFSETTING
Through carbon offsetting, shipping companies may deliver on many UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and remain compliant going into the future.
Carbon offsetting means purchasing a carbon credit and “retiring” the unit to compensate for greenhouse gas emissions. If a shipping company is unable to directly reduce the amount of GHG emitted it is possible, via carbon offsetting, to retire an equal amount of carbon credits thereby allowing the shipping company to remain compliant going into the future.
